 Hotel Description:

Under his powerful influences and careful planning, Prague expanded from its medieval core, centered around its 8th century Castle, and established its first university. Each of the Atlantic Hotel's 61 rooms is clean, comfortable, and equipped with all modern amenities. The Atlantic Hotel is perfect launching point from which to explore this beautiful city, only minutes from fine dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. Charles IV was not only then Reigning King of Bohemia and Moravia, he was also the ruling Holy Roman Emperor. Recent history has been exciting for Prague- --in 1989, the Czech Republic was liberated from 40 years of communist rule, led to democracy by Poet/Politician Vaclav Havel and his Velvet Revolution. Renamed "the English Court", it was host to many royals and other prominent guests who enjoyed the comfort of its spacious rooms and central location. Not your standard, run-of-the-mill hotel, the Atlantic also enjoys a history as varied as that of its host city. Known as the "Hundred-Spired City", Prague is the Czech Republic's gorgeous capital whose modern form was largely shaped in the 14th century under the reign of Charles IV. Once the darling of twenty-something adventure-seeking backpackers, it is now regarded as Eastern Europe's capital of arts and culture. The Atlantic Hotel is a three star establishment located in the business center of Prague, just around the corner from its Municipal House and its main shopping boulevard. Since that dramatic change, Prague has exploded as a tourist destination. Its warm and friendly staff is always on hand to assist with questions or offer advice, and in general to make your stay as comfortable and worry-free as possible. In 1845 the first train arrived at today's Masaryk Railway Station and the inn was reborn as a full-fledged hotel. Its tradition dates back to the 17th century, when it functioned as a roadside inn called "The Green Ox" and offered only a handful of guestrooms. In 1935 the hotel received another facelift and re-opened under its current name, "The Atlantic Hotel.". Today's Atlantic strives to maintain its high standards and long tradition of luxury and service.
